Calls

Voicemail, quiet lines and the voicemail box

What the bot does when a mailbox answers or the caller goes quiet, and how a rooted phone takes messages.

When a mailbox answers an outgoing call

The bot recognises a mailbox or a phone-company recording from what it hears, stops talking to it, and either hangs up or waits for the beep and leaves the voicemail message you set under Account → Voice → When the line is quiet or a mailbox answers. Leave the message empty to hang up instead. The call counts as *voicemail*, so a call list retries it later and the lead shows what happened.

When the line goes quiet

Speak up on a quiet line makes the bot check whether the person is still there after a silence (4 to 30 seconds, default 7), up to a number of times (default 2), then say goodbye and hang up. It is per project, so a support line and a callback line can behave differently. A longest-call limit ends a call that runs on too long.

The voicemail box (rooted phone)

On a rooted phone with root mode, Take messages under Account → Voice answers calls nobody takes: it plays your greeting (*"The person you are calling is not available right now. Please leave a message after the beep."*, or your own words), beeps, and sends you the message as text in a notification and in the conversation. Pocket Link does not take messages; it either answers with the bot or lets the phone ring.
