A QR code stores redundant data so damage still scans. Level L survives 7% damage and yields the sparsest pattern — fine for screens. M (15%) is the everyday default. Q (25%) is the print tier: business cards, flyers, packaging. H (30%) is what you want when a logo sits in the middle of the code or it will live somewhere scuffable. The trade-off is density: more correction means smaller dots, so scale the physical size accordingly.
